In a large-scale action against criminal gangs, the American authorities in six weeks time, more than 1300 arrests have been made. CNN reported Thursday that in the U.S. never before seen such a large-scale operation against gangs is undertaken.
Although the immigration service ICE the surgery resulted, was the action not against the migrants targeted. Among the detainees were over nine hundred American citizens. A number of the detainees was a member of Mara Salvatrucha (M13). That is a gang of young criminals, who are mainly in El Salvador and other countries in Central America is active.
