A new milestone in the dieselgate saga. In South Korea, a court issued an arrest warrant uitegegeven for a Volkswagen manager, reports The Independent.

It is globally the first time this happens after the outbreak of dieselgate. In Germany there is now an investigation going on to former Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn. Sorted out is whether there is any reason to think that he VAG’s share price is deliberately manipulated by the withholding of information about dieselgate. It is therefore not possible to rule out that this Korean affair is the prelude to more (ex-)Volkswagen leaders, who must justify in the courtroom.

South Korea is the second-largest Asian dieselmarkt after India. According to spokesman of the court, Shin Jae-hwan should the embattled manager of Volkswagen’s South Korean division charged with five offences including the falsificeren of documents and the breach of the air quality.

For Volkswagen remains dieselgate provisionally the gift that keeps on giving.
