Platform of artificial intelligence that previously predicted winners Oscar and the winners of the super bowl, now hit the jackpot at the races Kentucky Derby. UNU integrated system involving human and artificial intelligence, was able to advance to name the horses that will finish first, second, third and fourth place in the Derby at odds of 1 to 540. Thus the Creator of this system Lewis Rosenberg (Louis Rosnberg) earned 10 842 dollar at the original rate of $ 20.
The UNU system is a special form of artificial intelligence — the so-called swarm intelligence. UNU task is not to replace humans, but to strengthen his cognitive abilities. UNU operates as follows. First group of people included in the system using a smartphone or PC. Further, all members of the system asks the question and the answers are offered. Each user gets a virtual magnet which he can move around the screen, pulling the puck towards a particular answer. As a result, the washer may stop only one answer. The group of participants given only 60 seconds to make a collective decision that suits everyone.
For the prototype I was taken the collective intelligence of a bee swarm, which insects use, choosing a location for the hive. The algorithm UNU seeks to use the knowledge and intuition of the people in the group to develop a common solution. In contrast to the survey that divides people into subgroups depending on their opinions, UNU is looking for a solution-compromise.
In the beginning of the year possibilities were demonstrated to the Australian edition of Newsweek on the example of prediction of the outcome of the Oscars. Then the system was able to predict 11 out of 15 winners, being rather professional film critics and bookmakers.
In the future, Rosenberg intends to expand the scope of the system beyond the gambling and entertainment — UNU should find application in health care and policy. For example, on the basis of the system can be carried out consultations of doctors or accepted management decisions on the scale of entire States.
“The politicians are the opposite of value, but improving the lives of people remains the main task. Association in the framework of the UNU experts with different views allows to find a compromise. Our goal is to provide the society a platform for the collective solution of complex issues,” said Rosenberg.
