The Aston Martin DB2/4 Mk II Supersonic is a unique creation, built by Carrozzeria Ghia Torino.

Sometimes you come across weird nice things if you’re the dusty corners of the internet. This Aston Martin DB2/4 Mk II Supersonic dates from 1956 and has a bodywork made from aluminum. The bodywork was designed by Carrozzeria Ghia Touring. It is the only Supersonic that ever was built, on a chassis of Aston Martin. Similar “Supersonic” bodies were mounted on chassis of the Jaguar XJ120 (3 pieces), Fiat 8V (8 pieces) and the Alfa Romeo 1900 (1 copy). The Aston is the last in the series of Supersonics.

After in the possession of several prominent personalities (including Harry Schell, Robert M. Lee, and Richard Cowell) was the car at a gas station parked. There was the car in 1974, found by Brian Joseph, who was the car fully restored. The 3.0-litre six-cylinder delivers 140 hp.

In 2013 the car was auctioned for $2.310.000 dollar. What a beautiful gadget, right?
