GM EV1
The fully electric car of General Motors would have a range of 320 km, but only $30,000 for expenses. The cheapest Tesla Model S does in the US, about $70.000. Is Elon Musk impressed?

There is one agreement between any EV currently on the market, with the exception of the aforementioned Model S: after 200 kilometers it really is done with your battery pack, and to accomplish this you need to be very hard to do your best. Whether you’re a Leaf, Zoe, e-Golf, renault Fluence, or as some hip, i3,, drive, they are all in range fairly the same.

After a while the cat out of the tree to have looked at, and after the not undivided success of the (hybrid) Chevrolet Volt in the U.S., venture GM on a successor of their EV1.

The Wall Street Journal quotes GM’s product manager Doug Parks, who is, incidentally, no timetable or further information about the project, only that the costs that now are connected to high. There is, therefore, anticipating a future decline in price of batteries.

Coming back to the question of whether Tesla already bibbert as a straw: probably not. The Model S is a model that is in a high segment, with a maximum range of roughly 500 km. The group would itself in time with a model below, that has about the same specs can have as GM’s future model. Moreover, Tesla already has a product on the way, and the GM only claims.

In addition, the budgets of GM to be many times higher, it is also a log group which is not always the smartest choices are made.

I would not be surprised if several manufacturers (BMW i) in the coming years (attempt to) expand their EV range, where the stadsmobiliteit (still a bit of the current starting point) allows for an expansion of the range, and so the capabilities of the EV. Or the market there are also already ready for it, is another question.
