BMW gave today in Munich a preview of the new M3 and M4.

A select and highly privileged few got the opportunity today to with DTM drivers behind the wheel to take place in M3 and M4 prototypes. Although the full specifications of the cars is still strictly secret, we can say that both the M3 as the M4 430 hp and over 500 Nm of torque out of the 3.0-liter six-in-line.

Compared to the E90/E92 M3 (420 hp / 400 Nm), these figures are not really gone forward, but please note that it is now, with fewer cylinders and weight is achieved. The hole with the Mercedes C63 AMG (507 hp) would, therefore, be somewhat less than imagined.

To the great discussion about the may-or-may-not-manual gearbox in the M4 was just to stir up: we found a picture (CLICK) of what is very likely the shift knob is. Hooray! Our ears are still working well. It is, therefore, not only the 7-Speed DCT dual-clutch automatic transmission which is in the oil is allowed to stir. The only thing that lacks in the manual version is the seventh gear, where BMW, according to the rumors, however, is supposed to be working. Now this is a prototype, so there is still hope for the production version.
