Man from Groningen, design your own car

The Groninger designer and architect Alex den Braver has its own ‘car’ designed and built.

The Braver wanted something else, in the field of cars at least. All that standard stuff nowadays on the road, boring boring boring. The gentleman is an architect/artist, went behind his drawing board, sit down and designed a car of your own. Take the bull by the horns and stuff.

He was apparently happy with his design, because he is the car really going to build. Only the engine and the axles out of another car. The rest is made of corten steel, galvanized steel and cedar. It is a car with no paint/lacquer, probably as a kind of protest against all those wraps and the kleurgeweld today. The end result is a kind of off-road vehicle, but with a wooden look (and feel). He got his design then trouble-free by the APK and drive there now around, writes RTVNoord.nl.

UPDATE 1: The car, a rolling chassis of the Mercedes G-Class, with a gazebo built over it, was recently featured during the DesignXPO in Groningen. Den Braver has worked for a year but is now eager to have a car or camper to build. Suggestions anyone?

UPDATE 2: the “artist” is during the process followed and there is a documentary made about it, see below.
