Honda working on small, but muscular little brother for the NSX

Honda is going to bet big on performance models. We already had a Civic Type R and a brand new NSX, but the S2000 is more or less revived.

The Japanese want to compete with the Porsche Cayman and the Alfa Romeo 4C, reports Auto Express. Not that dara much fight is needed, but good. The new car would be, among others, the four-wheel-drive and hybrid technology of the adult NSX, and is further provided with a mid-engine. Insiders from Honda reported that it is not a question or the car, but when the official launch will follow. The development could, in fact, already well advanced.

The spiritual successor to the S2000 will get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder VTEC with turbo, good for an output of 334 hp. The three electric motors provide an extra boost on the front wheels, so that the total capacity of around 410 hp comes out. It is intended that the weight under the 1,400 kilogram continues, so the Japanese actually able to the European competition into the ground.

The car would be in 2018 will appear on the market and have translated some 80,000 euro cost.
