Hyundai has surprised friend and foe with the great strides that the brand took. The previous generation i30 (2007-2012) shows some points which are compared to the competitors, but it is a very solid car.
The use of materials in the interior is for example, less than some European competitors, but wear out does it not visible. Apart from these cosmetic issues, there are two things which the rest does better. The driving is not very exciting, but many buyers does that bother not. More importantly is that many i30’s noisy, because they are in the highest gear pretty much touring. During a test drive, so please always enter the main highway, to see for myself if you are up there to interfere.
Offer used cars
- On AutoScout24 over 500 copies of the second-hand Hyundai i30’s.
- The stationversie i30 CW is 40% of the offer.
- Diesels constitute only 12% of the offer.
- Only 6.5% has an automatic gearbox.
- Truly luxurious i30’s are hard to find: only a handful has xenon lights, heated seats, an open roof or leather upholstery.
- Prices start at 6,000 euros.
Pros
- Very reliable
- Great value for money.
Issues
- Defective ignition switch, the ignition key is there not more out. Lubrication helps in some cases.
- In diesel engines the pressure sensor of the common rail, once piece.
- 17” rims are actually a bit too large.
- Fitted as standard Hankook tires are noisy.
- Stove on longer trips I find a temperature to hold.
- ISG start-stop system doesn’t always work, usually a sign that the battery voltage is too low.
- Cornice i30 wagon will be filled: dealer solves this with extra clamps.
