Zes keer Porsche RS
You read right: 6 Porsche 911 RS. And we’re not about a set of brand new 991’s. No, the Carrera RS 2.7, using a factory new 996 GT3 RS to the 997.2 GT3 RS. A nice collection of so.

On 25 October, Silverstone Auctions on the same-named British circuit of an auction where only Porsches afgehamerd. 58 copies in total, of classic 356’s to recent Porkers. Thus, among other things, a rare 930 Turbo Slantnose’ auction. Still, all the delicacies in the not to six cars in the auction catalogue.

Six Porsche RS-models to be exact. The party starts with a 911 Carrera RS 2.7 from 1973. A beautiful copy of the first series of 500 models, the ones that actually for homologation were designed. Next in line is the 964 Carrera RS 1992, what concerns me most desirable of the bunch. Due to the lack of striping or spoilerwerk the least striking RS, but maybe that’s precisely his strength. This RS has exactly what is needed (extra power), and miss what is superfluous (175 pounds on unnecessary luxury).

The 993 Carrera RS is missing unfortunately at this auction so we will go quickly by with the 996. Thereof appeared an über-Turbo in the form of the GT2 and an atmospheric sight in the form of GT3. We say deliberately not top model, because that role was reserved for the GT3 RS. In a color that clearly a homage brought to the Carrera RS 2.7. During the auction, there is both a white and red and a white with blue 996 GT3 RS looking for a new home. The one with red wheels and ditto striping is special, since the previous owner only 5273 km has driven. What concerns us is a criminal offence for the auction house plenty of reason to expect that the car is more than two hundred thousand euro’s muster.

The most striking RS of the auction is undoubtedly the bright orange 997 GT3 RS, 2007. Do me then but the less showy white 997.2 GT3 RS (2010). Not only just a bit more stylish, thanks to the update also 35 hp stronger and slightly more refined. The very, very last manual RS is, of course, the 997 GT3 RS 4.0 in 2011 came on the market, but that is only slightly less iconic boyracer-striping. Such a pity.

Choose but

Assume that there is a god and you are not him/her one of these RS’and at the auction to pick and choose, what is it then? You go for the beautiful original, the striking orange 997 or do you secretly have a soft spot for the 996-generation? Have you just been I, the undersigned, love the 964, or rather in an equally white, but much faster 997.2 GT3 RS? To help you in the following gallery some pictures of each of these beauties.
