Rusty Slammington
Rusty Slammington is the name.

Ever began the creation of his life as an E28 5 Series. At the time a somewhat dated car (because actually a solid facelifted E12), but with BMW’s brilliant ‘Shark Nose’. Although this rusty, low -, and extremely wide car is built up with many original, but custom sheet metal, subcutaneous little more of the E28. That is not surprising, because this, in some circles legendary BMW went a few years ago, up in flames. The gradually transformed and top-chopped Bimmer was entirely contrary to expectation, however, still have a chance.

Mike Burrougs, the builder of this creation, started the umpteenth reincarnation of his BMW with only a pile of metal pipes. After a lot of measuring, sawing and welding, was there a light, but strong buizenschassis. The wheelbase was substantially shortened, while the track width significantly increased. There was also quite a bit of creative cut and welding to the rusty E28-skin fit.

The pushrod-suspension system originates from the racing scene, just like the huge 16 – to 19-inch BBS wheels. This coming from a Porsche 956! Yet it is also under the hood is still BMW-technique. The block is a BMW S38, originally a 3.5 l6 with 252 hp, among others, used in the E28 M5. This copy is opgeboord to 3.7-litres, equipped with dry sump-lubrication and other racegoodies. How much power the block is not entirely clear, but I suspect that it is nothing to be desired. A slightly more favourable consumption may, for the block lust after all the upgrades still only petrol with a octane rating of 110.

The car was in this week to marvel at the H&R booth, not coincidentally, also the suppliers of the springs and shock absorbers on this car, during the SEMA in Las Vegas.
