Actually, it is strange: we have a lot of variations of the 911 on video to put the past few years, but the longest produced model was not yet over. Time to change!

The Porsche 911 G-Model is still the 911 model that for the longest time in production, namely from 1973 to 1989. Sixteen years ago, to be exact. For a long time it was the cheapest model 911 but in the meantime, they are more expensive and you have more chances of a 996 at the bottom of the occasionprijslijsten to find. That word, I think just on the spot, but that aside.

The G-Model is an iconic shape. It was the basis for revolutionary models like the 930, the first Turbo. From model year 1976 was the use of galvanized steel for the body, reducing the chance of rust is greatly diminished. Porsche gave up six year warranty on the body. Also, the ventilation is improved through two vents in the center console.

The G-model is also the first model that the so-called “harmonica-bumpers”. This had to do with type approvals for the United States, where you with a certain speed into something to be able to drive without any visible damage as a result. The first G-Model Porsches still had narrow hips, but slowly there were more and wider wheel arches to accommodate more rubber that is in turn more power to the road had. The epitome of that wide hips: the previously mentioned Turbo (930) that is on this model Porsche is based. Ultimately it was the G-model is the longest-running variant of the 911, only in 1989 it was replaced by the 964.

The naturally breathable, air-cooled 2.7-litre six-cylinder boxer engine in this “S” good for 165 hp. That is perhaps less than you are currently in a bit of a hot hatchback, but there are not in this kind of cars. The experience, that is what matters. And that begins with the ultimate seventies composition: beige leather in combination with Sienna Brown metallic paint (also called Saharadiamant called), big boy as you put it on a 991 dare to order. But in 1977, this was a great combination, and the optional Fuchs wheels were also popular at that time.

The beige interior of this Porsche 911 is in its original state. In 1977, the car has been put together in a very pleasant combination. Air conditioning, electric windows and an electric sunroof were checked on the options list. Also does the car have a Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio, and optional fog lights. The car is unrestored (but recently fully re-in the varnish), and damage-free, the mileage is pleasant to be called for such an old car: something more than 125.500 miles on the clock.

Maybe I’m too late born, but I’m totally a fan of 911’s from the 70’s. I feel it at home, and they tend to do exactly what I want from a car. Time to take that nice six-cylinder to work. The key, the starter motor a few times around like that so typically goes with Porsches of this age. As if it almost fails the block to swing, and then follows the fact that kuchende roar of the boxer. First, something restless and then gradually quieter to go for a walk, so that you know that you can go for a drive.

And drive, so are these cars so good. Not perfect, certainly not. But there is something about the drive of a ’70s Porsche 911 that is difficult to express in words. The feeling that you are with a kind of primal car on the road, nothing does more than you ask except just drive. And a smile on your face. In the beginning I am always very careful with shifting, but also the vijfbak in this 911 never misses a trick, and so you forget that at any given time. It remains extraordinary that a car of almost 40 years of age as on z’n thunder can give, without that the car was a contraction.

Also the steering in a 911 of this age continues to be a pleasure. It to current standards thin sport steering wheel that was so exactly conveys what is happening under the front wheels occurs. The same wheel that all of your input, unfailingly transmits to the front wheels, enabling the 911 exactly a turn by target. It gives me incredible satisfaction and I can little cars think that I would rather like to own. Just because driving with this kind of cars is so pure and basic driving. But at the same time, I would not be scary to find a car like this for daily use.

I still have not had the guts to get my woman to tell that we the home should sell. And they find that a shame at Gina Classics, where this beautiful 911 2.7 S 1977 for sale. The photos are also for one time of their origination, thank you very much Marc! To see all photos click here to watch the video click here!
