Microsoft releases development kit quantum computing systems

The ever-increasing pace of development in the field of quantum computers allow us to say that a full-fledged quantum computer will still be created. However, for programming quantum computers will require not only qualified, but also a design tool called Dev kit (Development Kit is a development kit). Therefore, Microsoft decided to “catch the wave” and presented the first version of the kit of software development for quantum computers.

Dev kit got the name Microsoft Quantum Development Kit. It includes a programming language quantum systems Q# and a simulator that can simulate a 30-kubinyi quantum system. The latter will allow developers to debug code their programs on local computers. Besides the “basic” version of the simulator, and Microsoft provides a more powerful variant capable of modeling the 40-kubicova quantum system. They already are based on the cloud service Azure. It is worth saying that the development environment uses Microsoft Visual Studio so most professionals will work in a familiar environment. As stated by the Vice-President of Microsoft, Todd Holmdahl,

“We want to give future developers the ability to work in a familiar environment that will allow you to focus on the characteristics of the field of quantum computing. Conventional programmer will be hard to switch to “quantum rails”, but we’re going to make the process as convenient and easy. We hope that our developer kit will help to identify people, lateral thinking which will enable them to maximize the use of new quantum tools”.
