I think, no exaggeration to say that the model Ostry KC06 and KC06A became a legend in countries of the former USSR. The headphones quickly became popular, combining good design, good sound quality and affordable price. Further experiments into the field of liners special popularity did not use (although the model was quite OK), so the developers went back to the form factor IEM.
Model KC09 was originally scheduled for release at a price of $ 200, and even in that segment it was very competitive, but the insidious Ostry decided to dump the full and reduced price tag 2 times, turning a potentially good model to hit (as I was zampoleri, eh?).
Well, judge for yourself: high quality made headphones, sound from Ostry and replacement wires for the price of most Chinese hybrids from second-tier manufacturers is not this a dream?

The bass here is very typical of high-quality dynamic transducer. It is not dry, not trying to play super fast and give increased hlestkost, but the lack of resolution here to not complain. Bass in these headphones is accented, and the amount of the emphasis can be changed with the help of tips, choosing a level to suit your tastes. I stopped on a variant with the filter, as with it the rise of bass for me reaches the perfect size: enough to create a realistic effect weight, but not enough to prevail over the rest of the frequency range.
MIDs can also be called perfectly balanced, KC09 — it’s not headphones with a focus on microcontrast, they serve a material whole, but, of course, there is no feeling of lack of detail. “Overboard” are basically the flaws in the recording and other similar problems, so neautiful anything of value will not lose but rather gain. The ability to listen not the best quality recording without focus problems is a very significant advantage. Surprisingly well headphones build an imaginary scene, sometimes even a little “pojazdowa” her wide. It sounds not always of course, but in combination with accent bass very effectively. The depth of an imaginary scene — about average, but the study plans are very good. The nature of the instruments transmitted normal for this price range, and the vocalists have a small (very small) of “boost” to emotion.
The high-frequency range was also a bit adjusted compared to the previous model of the company. While maintaining the General permit and the development plans for the tweeter (not ideal, but for the price good), KC09 slightly reduced the aggressiveness of the attacks on HF that benefited their naturalness and perception. Overall, despite the good resolution and the lack of attempts to “pin down” the treble, they sound comfortable and not straining my ear (well at least mine).

MEEAudio P1. Another model, which won massive popularity. Of course, the price P1 above (although Massdrop version is close in price tag to KC09), but we here compare the sound. And this parameter there is a fundamental difference in approaches. P1 is more neutral, with slightly more resolution and more extended treble, while KC09 offer more emotions and more relaxed sound, especially on poor quality tracks.
FiiO F9. Another competitor at the price range. There is a difference in the sound directly attributable to the design: F9 is the hybrids, so they have a better resolution on MF and HF, but in HF they have a noticeable peak, and overall they sound “dry land” at the expense of the reinforcing emitters. KC09 more “continuous” in nature and offer exchange bit of contrast to the comfort and integrity of perception.
Whizzer A15 Pro. Despite the dynamic design, the sound “Missery” is also reminiscent of the hybrid model with the emphasis on bass and treble (not the Pro version, the similarity is even more). Compared to KC09, they offer a more scathing bass with a little less physicality and more accentuated treble with a more dynamic attack. MIDs have A15 a little more laid by the wayside, but overall a drop better.

Compatibility
The headphones have a “correct” impedance and sensitivity — no noise with powerful players, but it is quite “” modern smartphones. Although, of course, the latter does not reveal the full potential of this model to the fullest. The optimal source for it is the players initial-middle segment or so.
