The Mercedes GLC: this is ‘m!

Today was, after a lot of banter and gelek the cloth of the new Mercedes GLC afgehaal. This SUV should compete against the BMW X3 and is in addition to its own in the field.

At least, that’s what Mercedes would have us believe. During the presentation rolled on, the Germans-namely, one with mud smeared copy, but naturally, we all know that GLC-buyers, the SUV does not purchase for its terreincapaciteiten.

The GLC is based on the platform where the most recent C-class. He only gets a slightly longer wheelbase than the sedan. The engine line-up consists in the introduction of two diesels. The GLC 220d 4Matic is good for 170 horsepower, the GLC 250d 4Matic with 204 hp, a small scoop on top.

Biggest news is the arrival of a plug-in hybrid, which GLC 350e is called. The powertrain, we know, of course, the C350 Plug-in, but in the larger GLC does not have the same emissions strongholds. Mercedes gives for the time being in each case an emission of 60 grams of CO2 per kilometre, so 7% tax will not happen.

The range of petrol engines is in first instance limited to the GLC 250 with 211 hp. In a later stage we are also spoiled with a GLC 63 AMG, which has the same 4.0 V8 with two turbo’s under the hood as the last C63 AMG. The more common versions still have this year at the dealer.
