According to the profile of the resource Phandroid, messenger Google Hangouts for Android in the near future be at risk of losing its functionality.
As reported by some “reliable” sources the next version of Hangouts for Android will get such an innovation as the missing support for SMS and MMS messages. Presumably, users will be prompted to upgrade to a dedicated application Google Messenger.
It is noted that such a step will be taken by the developers to focus on the basic functions Hangouts, without thinking about some problematic subject such as SMS and MMS.
