Nismo
31 years ago, the Nissan Motorsports was founded. A sporty new brand, for in racing and later to the hot Nissan stuff to represent.

It was the eighties when the Japanese Nissan Motorsport International Limited branch founded. Simply called Nismo. The brand was especially founded for the racing, but later knew the Nismo-blood was introduced to make the street-legal car of Nissan.

Nissan worked during the sixties, seventies and eighties with different motorsport divisions together. Two of these divisions were in ’84 merged to Nismo. A factory in Omori served as the basis of the sports brand. Omori is a district in the enormous conurbation of Tokyo. Also the headquarter of Isuzu is located in the district. Nismo is tegenwoordigd moved to a new factory, in the neighborhood of Yokohama. This, because Nissan already for years, it operates from the Japanese port city. The naming convention is, however, unchanged.

Nismo Omori Factory

In the deepest secret were developments in the factory. Ideas, concepts and demos. You name it. The base of the Skyline, the current GT-R and a number of Z-models found their origin within the walls of the large complex. The red ” O ” in Nismo is a theme that is everywhere returns in the interior design of the building. As a fan of fast sporty Nissans is the Omori Factory is an Efteling theme park for adults. It is striking that the garage more looks like a clean showroom. But this is Japanese culture at its best: there is indeed worked, but the dirt on the floor, or in the environment is out of the question. The cleaner, the better.

Nissan Saurus Concept

Four years later, in 1988, was the first racing car from Nismo is a fact. Served as the basis for the 1987-derived, above depicted, Nissan Saurus Concept. A roadster that place offered to only one person. The car went as Nismo in production and made his debut in ’89 in the Saurus Cup Race series as Saurus Jr. Under the hood was a four cylinder turbocharged engine that 70 hp was able to deliver, linked to a manual vijfversnellingsbak. This same block was later in an evolved form used for the Japanese Nissan Micra: the March. The Saurus Jr. it was in 1991 sold by Nissan in Japan converted to eur 20,000. On the list of options could be things like a mirror or rear spoiler be checked.

Nismo was shortly thereafter aftermarket supplier for Nissan. Spoilers, diffusers, wheels, etc. Many parts are available for different models of the Japanese brand. Recently it became known that even the Patrol can be equipped with with Nismo goodies.

Nismo 380RS

Also a gekietelde engine belonged to the possibilities for Nismo. Especially Japan got several exclusive models of Nissan’s sports branch. So was the 350Z and the V35 Skyline available with different packages under the headings E-Type, S-Tune, R-Tune, and S1. In 2007, the special 380RS by Nismo launched. The inflated 350Z was a collaboration between Nismo and Autech and was sold in a street and racevariant. The raceversie knew 400 hp to deliver from the 3.8 litre V6.

Nismo Skyline GT-R Z-Tune

The most special Nismo is perhaps the Skyline GT-R (R34) Z-Tune. Only 20 copies were built of the monster and the car continues to also increase in value. Whom the internet afstruint must be careful. Many Skylines have a conversion undergone to the specs to match the Z-Tune. Do not underestimate the value of these replicas. A good conversion will still average way more than $ 100,000. On board, a 2.8 litre six-cylinder engine with 500 hp and 540 Nm. 12 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec’s were by Nismo bought up to the metamorphosis to undergo. The eight others were of customers that have their own V-Spec offering. The list price of the Z-Tune was converted about of 133,000 euros when the car in 2005 came on the market. Earlier this year, a tweedehandsje of the hand is converted to a sloppy 500,000 euro in Australia. Besides the Z-Tune has Nismo, four other models, to own managed to convert and also sold. These were the 400R, the March S-Tune Fairlady Z S-Tune GT and the previously mentioned 380RS. The main advantage of these street racers is that you have a tuned car could buy at the dealer with factory warranty.
