The release of VR with HTC Vive postponed until April

HTC has announced the postponement of the commercial release of the virtual reality helmet Vive. We will remind, the helmet is HTC Vive, the company introduced in March 2015 at MWC 2015. It was created in collaboration with Valve and is designed to compete with Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear VR and Google Cardboard.

HTC and Valve are planning to release the device to the end of the year, and the dev kit HTC Vive Developer Edition much earlier in the spring. As now says the manufacturer, with the beginning of the new year for developers will be provided with additional 7 thousand sets of helmets. This commercial version for common users will be available in April 2016.

Helmet HTC Vive is used more than 70 sensors and transducers. It is equipped with two displays with a resolution of 1200 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 frames per second.
