The Central Bank has required banks to analyze the settings and parameters of devices that customers use to transfer money. Such devices must also assign IDs. About this informed the newspaper “Vedomosti”.

This requirement is included in the April version of the provisions of the Central Bank. It should be another tool in the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

As explained to journalists Natalia Pozdeeva, managing Director of IT and technology “the absolute Bank” for matching IDs from different clients, banks should refer them to the category of clients with heightened risk level. With the increase of the level of risk, the Bank shall closely monitor the client, for example, often request additional information and update the questionnaire.

According to the representative of VTB, the Central Bank recommended to use IT-features for the analysis of activities of clients and they are now used by many banks and innovation only strengthens already existing practice.
