At the exhibition “Arab Health 2018”, held in Dubai, representatives of the Ministry of health of the United Arab Emirates announced that they plan to build a space hospital in which astronauts will be able to improve their health. The authors of the project make a big bet on robotics and nanotechnology. It is assumed that to manage all the processes will be located on the land doctors.
The initiative is designed for astronauts to distant future, so the Ministry expects to launch the project not earlier than 2117. Meanwhile, time for implementation of the project abound, the Ministry of health of the United Arab Emirates considers it necessary to warn partners about the beginning of work on the technologies that will be useful to implement the idea in the future. The creation of innovative developments, necessary for the construction of an orbital hospital, will be held in the framework of the program “artificial intelligence” and the national space program of the UAE.
The Ministry announced the beginning of work on the treatment of chronic diseases, and its representatives said that in the coming years will begin research in the field of treatment of diabetes with stem cells and treatment of cancer based on magnetic fields. In addition, experts from the UAE are developing a wearable device that regulates the level of sugar and blood pressure.
UAE the first step towards the realization of the idea of creating the space hospital will be the Mars mission of the Emirates, scheduled for 2020.
