Intel offers a way of decoding DNA with the help of mining

Процессор Intel

Intel reports that it has recently received a patent on the technology of capacity utilization of the mining equipment for the processing of genetic data. The authors of the idea of Ned Smith and Rajesh Purnachandra in the explanatory Memorandum describe the mining platform genome sequencing that will determine the order of nitrogenous bases in DNA or RNA.

Nitrogenous bases are the compounds included in the composition of nucleic acids containing genetic information. The order of these molecules determines what are the characteristics of a living creature, whether human, animal or plant.

In applications to the patent said that the mining platform genome sequencing will work, determining the sequence of nitrogenous bases in the nucleic acid, then applying the data obtained in the algorithm Proof of Work for mining blocks. After determining the genome information about it will also be recorded in the chain of blocks.

Resources spent on production of new units, typically are not doing any other useful work, whereas a patent Intel offers the miners to work in multitasking mode, simultaneously extracting the blocks and Sequeira genetic data.

The application was filed in June 2016. Now, on 14 December, after nearly a year and a half, the Office of patents and trademarks in the US approved the patent.

We invite everyone to discuss the idea of Intel, and just chat in our telegram-chat.
