Gang cultivated cannabis in nuclear bunker

Three Britons are Friday convicted for running a massive cannabisplantage in a former nuclear bunker in an isolated area in the southwest of England.

The gang used the bunker to more than 4,000 cannabis plants to grow, for an annual yield of 2 million pounds (2.2 million euros). The bunker was in the 80’s built to local government officials to be accommodated in the event of a nuclear attack.

The bunker, located in Chilmark near Salisbury, was no longer in the possession of the ministry of Defence. But the building was still completely intact, complete with doors that can withstand nuclear explosions, making it complex, almost impenetrable, police said.

The nursery was probably in the company since 2013. In order to operate excluded the gang, the internal power supply and tapte instead, flow through a facility outside the complex, with illegal for to 650,000 pounds of electricity was used.

The three defendants were sentenced to terms of imprisonment of eight years and two times in five years.
