Today unveiled Audi at a symposium in Vienna the plan for the next generation of 3.0 TDI’s. The result is obvious: moar power and less consumption.

Audi calls its new V6 TDI “Clean Diesel”. The 2.967 cc large zelfontbrander with an inclined angle of 90 degrees complies with the Euro 6 standard. He comes in 2 flavors: 218 and 272 hp, a jump compared to the current 204 and 245 hp -update – and 258 hp (in the A8). The consumption with up to 13%.

Models with front-wheel drive and a longitudinally mounted engine, with the update also available on the 7-speed S-tronic. The 3.0 BiTDi, double turbocharger, remains with 313 horses still the strongest six-cylinder TDI.

The International Vienna Motor Symposium by Audi for years used as a stage to motorinnovaties and developments around the world. In 2009 it introduced the 2.5 TFSI, in 2010 the then new 3.0 TDI. 2011 brought the 3.0 TDI biturbo and the new 1.8 TFSI, in 2012 it was the turn of the delicious 4.0 TFSI, last year shone the V6 TDI for the R18 e‑tron quattro LMP-1 racer in the Austrian capital.
