Yamaha Motiv: this is the stadsvoiture of Gordon Murray

We know the T. 25 and T. 27 of autolegende Gordon Murray? Well, there is, as announced previously, a party who wants to build on. Today it became known that this no less than keyboardbouwer Yamaha, and they call him the Motiv.

The Motiv is a further development and at the same time, less angular version of Gordon Murray city car. (If you didn’t notice, the tiny city car’s are hip because car manufacturers think we are all in a superstad go live.) Murray had been around since 2008 in conversation with Yamaha, but the negotiations came to a standstill. Now there is obviously again shot in the case.

The Motiv is 2,69 meters long, weighs 730 kg and has an outer shell which is made of plastic. A material which, according to Murray in crashsituaties better behavior than steel, and aluminum, as witnessed by the earlier crash test.

The two-seat Motiv, according to the current schedule in two variants on the market. As a fully electric model (33 hp, Vmax of 100 km/h) and with a three-cylinder petrol engine that between 70 and 80 hp provides.

Should the production continue (Yamaha’s board of directors has yet to agree) then he comes in 2016 on the market, aimed at a European audience. As of today, he is in all his littleness, to shine more on the car show of Tokyo.
