Airbags
The Japanese airbagfabrikant Takata have to a lot of cars to recall. So much so, that it is the biggest recall ever. And we’re not even just about cars.

In recent years urged, for instance, Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan and BMW are already millions of cars back because of a failing ignition of the airbag. These were in all cases made by the Japanese supplier Takata. The misery around the Japanese plofzakken is, however, still far from over, as the manufacturer announced today that less than 33.8 million cars in the United States are equipped with a failing airbagmechanisme and so should go back to the dealer for a replacement. Moreover, roughly half of those cars have already been recalled by various car manufacturers themselves.

The problem lies in the activation of the airbag. This would be a controlled explosion, but in the Takata airbags can these explosions are so powerful that the metal housing of the airbag in small pieces in the direction of the already hapless passengers to be shot. There would be in all five or six people are died by the consequences of a faulty Takata airbag, the most behind the wheel of a Honda.

The 33.8 million cars to be recalled are all in the United States, the total number of cars will probably be a lot higher extract. At this moment there are in the United States by various manufacturers all 17 million cars recalled because of the Takata airbag, worldwide even though 36 million, according to NBC. And those numbers will only increase.

UPDATE: According to the ANP in the Netherlands to 37.000 Toyota between 2003 and 2007, and 7000 Nissan’s from the model years 2004 to 2007.
