Time for a piece of koeltoer, on Sunday afternoon.

The name of Art Fitzpatrick does at some may not ring a bell. Yet he is the man behind the distinctive advertising campaigns of General Motors. The picture above is just one example of the more material you can find in below gallery. Lovers of the creations of Pontiac should be sure to take a look.

Fitzpatrick was for GM active from 1959 to 1971 and was mainly responsible for the graphics of the cars, which for the occasion even wider and lower were shown than they already were. His partner Of Kaufman (died in 1995) provided the environments in the pictures.

Incidentally, began Fitzpatrick his career at the Detroit Society of Ats and Crafts (now the College for Creative Studies). He then made not only drawings of existing cars, but he designed them himself too. An example of this is the Packard 180 Sedan from 1940.

After world war II came to his career as an illustrator for ads only really got off the ground and he began to work with Kaufman, a former employee of Disney. In addition to cars followed a series of limited edition stamps and Fitzpatrick would until long after his retirement to stay active. Last week died the artist at age 96.
