Alfa Romeo Giulia 'GT Junior' is not special, but beautiful

This Alfa Romeo Giulia is a lazy homage to the GT Junior, but looks very nice.

Cars have become more frivolous in terms of colors in recent years, but it has been quite depressing for a long time. It was gray, silver, black and here and there dark blue that struck the clock. These are still the colors that dominate the streets.

Everything used to be better, some things were better. For example, the color palette of the cars. In the 60s and 70s, a car didn't have to be exotic to have a special tan. Beige, teal, orange: colors that are now special you saw on every street corner.

Alfa Romeo is not averse to a bit of nostalgia and has now restored one of the historic colors. Or actually they had already done that, but we'll get to that in a moment. What matters now: they are launching a special edition that pays homage to the GT 1300 Junior from the 1960s.

That is of course a car that Alfa likes to remind us of, because it is one of the gems in the history of the brand. With the Giulia Sprint GT, Giorgetto Giugiaro managed to create one of the most beautiful designs from the 60s.

One of the colors in which the GT Junior was supplied at the time was ocher yellow. A typical color that has all but disappeared from the color palette of car manufacturers. Alfa Romeo is now bringing this color back on a special edition called 'Giulia GT Junior'. It's not exactly the same color, but we'd like to condone that. This simply looks very nice.

Furthermore, we unfortunately have to conclude that Alfa has been very lazy with this special edition, which is also available as Stelvio. The only thing that really distinguishes the Giulia GT Junior from a regular Giulia is the embroidered logo with the silhouette of a GT Junior on the dashboard and the logos on the headrests.

Apart from the logos, this is a car that you can put together yourself. This particular color -Ocra Lipari – can be ordered, for example, since last year (for an additional cost of just under 3 mille). We just haven't seen it yet, so perhaps this special edition can still be useful by serving as a source of inspiration. This is a color that we want to see more often on the Dutch roads.
