The system works in two scenarios. At the first, it captures changes in signal level fluctuations between access points. The second implies that the technology will determine the presence of a new device by the signal level if a person with a smartphone appears in the area of its action.
The second method is if the person has active Wi-Fi, the system immediately detects the presence of a new device by the signal level. This works even if the device is not connected to this Wi-Fi point. If you don't have a phone with you, the first method helps. The principle of the system is based on triangulation (a method for determining the location of a cellular subscriber) between Wi-Fi access points.
