Cognitive Technologies conducted the first tests of unmanned harvester

In the spring, we already wrote about the Russian company Cognitive Technologies, which created the autopilot for agricultural machinery. Yesterday, a few months later, the developers said that conducted the first tests of its technology in cooperation with Rostselmash.

The autopilot is focused on the field using a video camera which allows the artificial intelligence to calculate the trajectory. Thanks to this processor exactly is on the field, collecting undersized barley. Initially, the developers planned to test the autopilot on a field of wheat — its height is about eighty centimeters. Instead, the autopilot had to deal with a barley field, the height of the ear which does not exceed forty inches. For the system to automatically operate the processor coped with the task, the developers almost two days trained neural network work in the new environment. Despite the difficulties, the first test was successful.

The video presents a new combine RSM 181 developed by the Rostselmash company is the developers of the autopilot and equipped with my automatic control system.
