According to the Korean resource ET News, Samsung Display and Apple are close to a final contract on the supply of flexible OLED displays for future iPhone models.
In case of reaching agreement, Samsung Display invests $ 7,47 billion in equipment for the production of OLED to be able to fulfill orders.
Recall that many rumors predict that Apple will start producing smartphones with OLED displays in 2018. In addition to Samsung Display, orders for OLED panels can get companies such as AU Optronics, LG and Japan Display. These three companies are already supplying LCD panels for existing iPhone models.
