In a conversation with Benedict Evans of Mosaic Ventures, he said that the “compromises” Apple has made make the Vision Pro inferior to the $500 Quest 3, even though the Vision Pro costs $3,500.

Evans, comparing the Vision Pro to the Quest 3, said that Apple is selling “virtually the same thing” that Meta wants to release in 3-5 years. At the same time, in terms of price, Apple itself wants to reach Meta indicators in 2024.

Zuckerberg did not agree with this comparison. He believes that Quest 3 is better than the brainchild of the Cupertino team. “If in 3-5 years our devices weigh the same as their counterparts, or they have blurry images when moving or lack input accuracy, then this will mean that we are moving in the opposite direction,” he said.

Zuckerberg added that Apple “paid” for the higher resolution of the Vision Pro with “other compromises that in many ways make their device worse.”
