In addition to the named social network, Meta is also owned by Instagram, which is also banned in Russia. Skolkovo-NES analysts calculated the company's total losses by adding up the amounts that the services earned from Russian users. As noted, Facebook earns an average of $ 19.68 from each European user, the share of Russian users is 66 million people. Thus, according to analysts, Facebook's losses are $3.6 million per day, or $1.3 billion per year.

Instagram has an audience in Russia of 64 million users per day — $12.84; earnings per year – $ 823.6 million. In total, the loss is $ 2-2.2 billion per year. At the same time, the calculations did not take into account the purchase of advertising in social networks depending on the country, the rate of placement, various alternative projects and ways to earn money from them, and unpopular methods of earning money in Russia, in particular, in-app sales, were not taken into account.

“Given that the precedent caused a mixed reaction in many countries, the decrease in capitalization can be much more significant, but depends on many factors that shape the expectations of investors and consumers,” said the head of research at the Skolkovo Center NES by Yegor Krivosheya.
