Recently years of supplying robots in the country have significantly increased their production capacity: In 2020, the share of exports rose to 78% with 136,069 industrial robots delivered. These are the results released by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) ahead of the International Robot Exhibition (iREX), which will be held in Tokyo from 09 to 12 March 2022.
36% of Japanese robotics exports and automation technology was destined for China. Like other international robot suppliers, Japanese manufacturers also serve the Chinese market directly from their factories in China. These factories in the world's largest market for industrial robots proved to be a major asset in 2020 as international supply chains were disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
