The UK Competitive Markets Authority said it was also investigating the deal, and its head, Andrea Coselli, said: “We are concerned that Google may have teamed up with Meta to put obstacles in the way of competitors who provide important online advertising services to publishers.”
If Meta or Google is found to be in violation EU antitrust laws, they can be fined up to 10 percent of their global annual income.
