GECID.com experts found out how modern games are going in Full HD on various settings with a configuration based on the Core i7-2600K. At the same time, projects such as Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, Battlefield 2042, Cyberpunk 2077, Deathloop, Escape From Tarkov, Far Cry 6, Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite (MP), Red Dead Redemption 2, StarCraft II, The Witcher 3 were launched: Wild Hunt, Warframe, ARK: Survival Evolved, Grand Theft Auto V, Rust, Rainbow Six: Siege, Watch Dogs: Legion.
The best results in terms of average performance were obtained with Core i7-2600K in Rainbow Six: Siege (192 fps, Full HD, ultra-settings), Warframe (166 fps, Full HD, high graphics settings; 131 fps, Full HD, maximum settings), Forza Horizon 5 (123 fps, Full HD, medium graphics settings). Also, 100 or more frames per second on average turns out to be achieved in Halo Infinite (111 fps, Full HD, low graphics settings), Assassin's Creed: Valhalla (100 fps/s, Full HD, medium graphics settings).

The processor demonstrates the worst performance values in Watch Dogs: Legion (53 fps, Full HD, high settings), Battlefield 2042 (56 fps, Full HD, low settings), Cyberpunk 2077 (57 fps, Full HD, ultra settings).

Overall, a Core i7-2600K processor costs about $ 70. If you want to upgrade your system with a Core i3 processor, then this model will do just fine. Although it must be said that the performance against the background of more modern devices is not very high and there is support for the outdated DDR3 memory standard and the PCIe 2.0 interface.
