Heavily intoxicated Taycan driver flies out of the bend on the A6

The driver of this Porsche Taycan has not taken Heineken's F1 advertisement to heart.

We recently wrote about a Tesla driver who thought he was allowed to drive too fast because he was driving an electric car. Apparently there are also Taycan drivers who think they should get behind the wheel with a sip. That is in any case what the driver of a Dutch Taycan did today.

The best driver flew out of the bend on the A6 this afternoon at the Almere-Steenwijk exit. Now it could simply be a matter of speeding and misjudging the corner. After all, a Porsche Taycan is a pretty fast car. And, in this case, it is also a rear-wheel drive car.

This is because it concerns the new slip-on, which – unlike the other versions of the Taycan – only has an electric motor on the rear axle. And that means it's easier to get out of control.

There was more going on, though. It was difficult to communicate with the driver and that was not because he was in shock. The breathalyzer showed that he had consumed six times the legal limit of alcohol. And that on a Monday afternoon.

The damage to the car seems to be not too bad, but this story is going to have a tail end for this Taycan driver. It will probably take a long time before he can get behind the wheel of a car again.
