Due to errors during washing, sensors were damaged on March 15, 2020, an American F-22 fighter crashed. This happened immediately after his takeoff from Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. Recently, the commission named the cause of the disaster. Discuss
Fortunately, the pilot of the fighter managed to eject and was not injured. The plane burned down completely. When they were looking for a pilot, another accident almost happened – the planes that were sent in search almost collided in the air.
Investigation showed that on March 15 at 8:28 local time, the F-22 pilot received a take-off clearance. During acceleration, a warning appeared on the dashboard, but the plane behaved normally and did not stop taking off. At an altitude of about 18 meters, the F-22 began to roll to the left. The pilot reduced throttle and the fighter leveled off. Soon, another warning appeared – the on-board computer could not receive data from the air sensors. The plane began to roll again and eventually capsized. Then another warning came. The pilot saw inconsistencies between the data and decided to eject. An unguided fighter fell into the forest.
As it turned out, the accident was caused by mistakes made when washing the aircraft. This affected the work of its external sensors.
