Hard proof that even tough guys don't ride heavy EVs 8217;s are waiting: all Dodge Hellcats are stolen.
In a world of emissions standards and kWhs, the Dodge Hellcat is an absolute breath of fresh air for the petrol head. While the rest of the automakers are scrambling to bring EVs to market, Dodge is still partying like it's 1999.
6.2 with 2.4
The 6.2 liter V8 with 2.4 liter mechanical compressor is good for at least 707 hp. Of course the ancient platform of the Challenger and Charger can't really handle all that power and a BMW M5 CS circles around it on a circuit. But that makes no difference to the desirability of the old school muscle cars.
Boefte
The fact that Dodge Hellcats are apparently very popular with the thieves guild does put a damper on the festivities. So loved, it's now more or less a meme in 'Murica. Sometimes you have it that a car is extremely popular with criminals for one reason or another.
Cozzie
The Ford Sierra Cozzie, for example, suffered so much in the UK that Ford slashed its price. With insurance prices exploding for the fast Ford, no one else wanted to buy one. In the Netherlands we saw this a few years ago with headlights from VAG products that were apparently stolen to order.
Everything with Supercharged V8
According to our friends from Jalopnik, such a phenomenon is now happening at Hellcats in 'Murica. The rig of the ledge is apparently mainly about the engine. All models with the blown V8 are loved by the saltwater, whether it's a Challenger, Charger, Grand Cherokee, RAM TRX or Durango.
Test car bitten
At various dealers, several copies of the terrain have been bitten. At a dealer this even involved 74 clawed specimens. Our American colleagues also found it unpleasant for themselves that the Hellcat (motor) was popular when the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk they had as a test car was blacked out.
Orlando Magic
The latest incident has now occurred at the Orlando airport. There, four hellcats were stolen from locked garages on the same day. It concerns two Chargers, a Challenger and a Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. When they got home, all the owners wondered if they might have parked somewhere else after all. However, that was not the case.
CO2 tax
Does this also stop you from buying a Hellcat, or are you more likely to be stopped by the tens of thousands of Euro's CO2 tax that the government wants to pour out of your pocket when buying? Let us know in the comments!
