If you want to lease a serious electric family car, you can often not avoid very high prices. Think of a Tesla Model S or Y. But what can you get if you have 35,000 euros to spend?
We all have to believe it sooner or later. Electric driving. Especially if at some point you want a new car and don't want to keep driving an old or young timer. There is a good chance that in a few years all new cars will be electric.
But it is also possible that you can quickly choose another lease car and that you voluntarily go for electric. We understand, because there is not much wrong with a car that runs on electricity. But what can you get for a budget of 35,000 euros, which you can also go in with your whole family? We'll find out for you!
By the way, the 35,000 euros was not chosen completely unconsciously. From next year you will only benefit from the low addition of 16% if your car does not cost more than 35k.

Unfortunately, you and your family do not fit in a Smart EQ ForTwo or ForFour. They are nice cars, but they do not directly meet the criterion of 'serious electric family car'. The same goes for the Fiat 500e, the Seat Mii/Volkwagen e-Up! and the Reanault Zoe. All well within the budget, but by no means spacious enough for your whole family.
Then you quickly think that you still have to spend a huge amount for a spacious electric family car, but then you are wrong. There is of course only 1 car that meets the requirements and stays well within the budget.
The Dacia Spring Electric

You should have known. The toppers from Romania also let you in the category ‘serious electric family cars’ for a duppie in the front row with the Dacia Spring Electric. Of course, this electric variant is more expensive than a petrol-powered Sandero, but you do get value for money.
The battery has a capacity of 27.4 kWh and with that you drive -theoretically- 230 kilometers. It's just not all that fast, you only reach 100 after 19.1 seconds and the top is 125 kilometers per hour. But you can go in with four people and the best part is the price. For a Dacia Spring Electric you only pay 17,890 euros.
You can lease it for 60 months and 10,000 kilometers per year for 253 euros per month. That's ‘bang for buck’!
There are many more options for a little more money
We are of course looking for “serious electric family cars”. and just maybe the Dacia will fall for the word 'serious'. Because the speed, or rather the lack of it, is a thing. But luckily there is enough in the budget.
How about the Mazda MX-30, the Volkswagen ID3, the Hyundai Kona Electric or the Nissan Leaf. All cars that are under 35,000 euros and therefore fall within your budget of 35,000 euros and can easily take an average family with you.
But unfortunately, as far as we are concerned, they fall off in the search for the most serious electric family car of around 35,000 euros. Incidentally, that is not due to the cars themselves, which are all perfectly fine, but to a competitor…

According to Autoblog, the most serious electric family car in the price range of about 35,000 euros is the Kia e-Niro. A spacious SUV with excellent performance (204 hp, 0-100 in 7.8 seconds and a top of 167) and a range that you can also come home with. It varies from 289 to 455 kilometers.

The only problem is the price. Because instead of 35,000 euros, you pay 35,995 euros for this serious electric family car. Perhaps there is something to agree with him/her/X, because again, if you want an electric car that is right on all fronts, you should go for this one in our opinion. And that higher addition on the last 995 euros? You just have to take it for granted!
Incidentally, the Citroën e-C4 is also often mentioned as an alternative. Because yes, quite a spacious car for its starting price of well under € 35,000. So if you really want to stay below 35,000, the French is a serious alternative.

And in the same price regions is the Peugeot E-2008. Even though you get there for 35,000 in the basic version, which makes you long for just a few more options.
