However, after a few days his symptoms disappear Medical Express reported cases of myocarditis in children vaccinated with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Discuss
As reported in the material, several cases of myocarditis were recorded in children vaccinated with Pfizer-BioNTech. Professor Audrey Dionne and colleagues studied the state of the heart in 15 children, of which 14 are boys, the average age of the patients is 15 years. All of them were hospitalized with myocarditis within 30 days after the start of vaccination.
It turned out that the symptoms began to appear in children 1-6 days after receiving the vaccine. All patients complained of chest pain, 10 people complained of fever, 8 people complained of myalgia, and 6 people complained of headache. At the same time, each of the hospitalized patients had an increased level of troponin (0.25 ng/ml), which reached its maximum some time after admission. MRI showed the presence of myocarditis in 13 people, in 12 – an increase in the level of gadolinium.
On average, the children were in the hospital for 2 days. Symptoms disappeared within 1-13 days after discharge in 73 percent of patients. At the same time, scientists note that although after vaccination it may not last long and pass quickly, it is not known what effect this has on the body in the long term.
