Suzuka
What is such a circuit is flat isn’t it, from above?

He is back on the calendar: the race on the beautiful circuit of Suzuka in Japan. We can’t emphasize, but the circulation is ever designed by Dutchman Hans Hugenholtz. The circuit was originally a test track of the Honda, but since year and day, both by cars and by bikes raced. And hard also.

Of the 18 turns, are there 11 with a speed of around 200 km/h taken. Da’s formidable. Further like to mention is the fact that Max Verstappen last year for his first real Formula 1-km during a Grand Prix weekend, reed, made him the youngest debutant ever in the king’s class of motorsport.

In addition, it was Suzuka often as one of the last raceweekends on the calendar, what makes that there are many exciting races are held in which much is at stake. Michael Schumacher was on this job the succesvolst. The German won during his extensive career, but six times on this track.

On the straight stretch is a speed achieved of over 305 km/h. Schumacher saw his titelkansen in 1998, literally, the air, when he was in high speed burst got. I found it to be seriously terrible, if small, Schumi-fan. After the Goodyear-tire in the air it went, I have the tv turned off and I am angry back to sleep. The accompanying video, you will have to search, I can’t be more to look at.

First turn

First turn

Apparently was lacking inspiration in the giving of names to the curves for the two kink after the back straight are known as ‘first turn’. The first of the two is inhibitory and free rap. Here roste Ayrton Senna colleague Alain Prost of the track in 1990 (video). The Brazilian went nicely with the championship pacesetters. The second bend is a bit slower.

Esses

Esses

A bochtenserie to red. Left-right-left-right-left, so we can make it so the best way to describe. The average speed on this section will soon be around the 200 km/h. No section for little boys.

Dunlop Curve

Dunlop

In this fast-paced linkerbocht (220 km/h) hit Formula 1 driver Jules Bianchi last year, seriously injured, after being in the pouring rain, the asphalt glibberde and full on a takelauto collided. The Frenchman was in a coma and would never awaken. For those who feel the need: the images you find here.

Degner Curve and Degner 2

Degner

The first is a bit of a crazy blocky nod to the right. The riders are diving there is already braking for the next bend, with a speed of around 130 km/h also turn to the right. Just then, the drivers under the fly-over by, always a special sight.

Hairpin

Hairpin

An interesting little hairpin that low speed is taken. Separate is that not all drivers here are the same lines, but that was it.

200R and Spoon

Spoon

The riders have now reached the faster part of the circuit, via the full throttle 200R that turn to the right. At the peak is going to be a F1 car at this point, about 290 km/h, which has to be slowed down for the first linkerknik (190 km/h) of the combination known as Spoon. The second curve that this name is listening is a bit slower with about 145 km/h. A good exit is very important because of the long straight that follows.

130R

130R

To be the absolute dessert of Suzuka, this lompsnelle left today over 300 km/h at full throttle. Not so long ago were the cars, aerodynamically, a lot less advanced, and it was for this turn briefly inhibited. Overtaking is possible, as proved Fernando Alonso (movie).

Accidents are as you probably already expected in a small corner. Allan McNish pushed his Toyota literally through the guardrail. Freaky shit (movie).

Casino Triangle

Casino Triangle

The last bends of the circuit. Overtaking is possible, provided the drivers to each other with the necessary respect. In 1989, the bend is since then something changed – it went completely wrong between gamefowls Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna. Prost was on the outside and saw Senna take a shortcut. However, sent the Frenchman, his own race ending (movie). Senna drove by and crowned himself already a champion, until he by the then-FIA boss (and friend of Prost) Balèstre was disqualified. You see: politics in the F1 of all times. Senna would be the year revancheren by Prost right after the start, literally the asphalt to rossen (see “First Curve”). Enjoy blown.

Small sidenote: in 2003, it was the promising Japanese MotoGP rider Daijiro Kato who is close to the Casino Triangle hard crashed on the spot and died.

After the chicane is the throttle right and the round of Suzuka again. Sunday coming will be the race to 07:00 Dutch time to start.
