#news high technology 262 | Russian SpaceX and the first train on hydrogen

Every Monday in the new issue of “News of high technologies” we summarize the results of the last week, talking about some of the most important events, the key discoveries and inventions. Today about the new iPhone, the tourists on the moon and much more. Below the news you can find in a text format.

SpaceX will send someone to the moon

The company SpaceX has revealed the name of the person who was the first to fly the BFR rocket to the moon. It will be a Japanese billionaire Yusaku of Maezawa, which launched the project and invited dearMoon in flight eight artists, including painter, musician, film Director and fashion designer, whose names are held in secret

The billionaire hopes that his project, created in collaboration with Elon Musk, will inspire artists to new masterpieces.

“If Pablo Picasso was able to see the moon up close, how it would look like his paintings? If John Lennon could see the curvature of the Earth, as if his songs sounded? If they went into space, how would the world look like today?”

Flying a rocket is scheduled for 2023. The mission will last a week, during which the rocket will approach the moon at a distance of 201 km and will return to Earth.

In the entire history of mankind on the moon were only 24 people — the participants of the space program “Apollo”. The astronauts landed on the moon’s surface 6 times. Last time it happened in 1972 in the framework of the mission “Apollo 17”.

Russian SpaceX

Russia is developing a prototype of a reusable stage booster. At the moment there is preparation of technical specifications and work directly on the creation stage will start somewhere in the first half of 2019.
The source noted that the aim of the project is to create a fully functional demonstrator rocket engine. The prototype will have to undergo the entire cycle of testing starting from the start, then output at the necessary height, after testing return and land back at the launch site.

As it became known, the basis of the prototype returned to the stage was taken by the project “Baikal”, which was developed by the Center. Khrunichev. The news source explained that “Baikal” was chosen due to the presence of the rotary wing, which at the start of the rocket is in the folded state. When you set the required height of the wing unfolds, and the stage passes hypersonic, transonic, and subsonic stages. The stage is planned to plant on the runway in automatic mode like a plane.

It is also noted that the development of reusable winged stages, taking into account the experience of many global developments, including the American company SpaceX, the head of which is the entrepreneur Elon Musk.

The first train on hydrogen

In Germany have launched the first train on hydrogen fuel. Coradia iLint developed by a group of experts from French company Alstom, and was first presented at the exhibition InnoTrans in Berlin in 2016. At the moment the rails between the cities runs 2 trains, each of which can accommodate up to 300 passengers. Fuel cells produce energy in the form of electricity during the reaction of combining hydrogen and oxygen.

A by-product in this case is water. The resulting energy charges lithium-ion battery, energy which is enough to travel about 1000 kilometers. The speed will be very big — the train is able to accelerate to 140 kilometres per hour.

Until the end of 2021 on the Railways of Germany should receive the 14 such trains hydrogen fuel. But with all the advantages to the environment, from an economic point of view, such trains can be expensive, however the Manager project management Alstom Stefan I have been explained the situation:

The only negative of our train — their cost and the costs of refills. However, their maintenance requires much lower costs overall.

“Star trek” in real life

Astronomers of the University of Florida reported the discovery of this extrasolar planets, which by its characteristics is very similar to planet Vulcan appeared in kynoselen “Star trek”. Exoplanet discovered with a telescope Dharma Endowment Foundation Telescope (DEFT). Object is a super-earths, and is about 16 light years.

The source reports that the size of the public object about twice the size of Earth. Complete revolution around its star exoplanet makes for 42 days. At the same time discovered the Volcano is at its most optimal point of the so-called zone of habitability.

The researchers found that the star HD 26965 only slightly cooler and smaller than our Sun. They are the same age and have identical cycles of magnetic activity. According to scientists, despite the high surface temperature, discovered exoplanet can be habitable.
