The Moscow district military court sentenced a resident of the eagle to five years in prison for comments in the social network Vkontakte. This was reported on the website of the Prosecutor of the Oryol region.
The guilty verdict was rendered in a criminal case for committing crimes of a terrorist nature. The defendant was found guilty under part 2 of article 205.2 of the criminal code — public justification of terrorism, committed with the use of the Internet.
The defendant posted on the group page Vkontakte text comments containing characteristics justify the Islamist terrorist organization “ISIS” (prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation), as well as signs of religious justification for terrorism.
The court agreed with the conclusions of the public Prosecutor about the defendant’s guilt and sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment with punishment serving in a corrective colony of General regime, with deprivation of the right to engage in activities associated with the administration of sites using electronic or information-telecommunication networks, including the Internet, for 3 years.
