Company Global HMD confirmed that almost all Nokia smartphones will be able to upgrade to the latest version of the Android operating system 9 Pie. This was reported in the official Twitter-account Nokia Mobile and representatives of the company.
According to Nokia Mobile, 9 Android Pie will be available for Nokia 3, 5, 6 and 8. The distribution will be stepwise, as usual. The Nokia 7 Plus as part of the program Android One will receive guaranteed software updates for two years, including a 9 Android Pie.
A little later the Finnish core resource Suomimobiili.fi managed to get official confirmation from the HMD that almost all of its smartphones will be updated. Full list of models that will get Android 9 Pie in the coming months include: Nokia 1 (Go Android), Nokia 2, Nokia 2.1 (Go Android), Nokia 3, Nokia 3.1, Nokia 5, Nokia 5.1, Nokia 6, Nokia 6.1, 6.1 Nokia Plus, Nokia 7 (China), Plus Nokia 7, Nokia 8, Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia X6 (China), and Nokia X5 (China).
Recall that the stable version Android 9 Pie (Pie) was introduced by Google in August 6. It brings quite a lot of innovations involving artificial intelligence, as well as “native” support for displays with cut-outs in the style of iPhone X. As promised then Google the device that supported the beta program P Android — such as Sony Mobile, Xiaomi, HMD Global, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus and Essential as well as Android One devices will receive the update before the end of autumn.
