Doctors have learned to restore nerve cells

“Nerve cells do not regenerate”. This statement is very popular among the people, however, it cannot be considered 100% correct. It has long been proven that if the kernel is not damaged nerve cells of its processes (axons), it is possible to recover. Moreover, a new study by scientists at the University of Sheffield (UK) has developed new valid method of regeneration cells of nervous tissue, which can rescue people from the paralysis of the limbs.

British scientists using evidence that cells of the nervous tissue located outside the brain, can regenerate, has created a method of recovery of the nerves with the help of special biological frame, and includes growth factors (i.e., substance through which development occurs) nervous tissue. It consists of inert materials and is not rejected by the body. This framework helps damaged areas heal faster by stimulating the growth and regeneration of cages.

Set correctly frame “adjusts” the nerve growth in the right direction, and thus it is possible to restore even a significant part of the lost nerve. After completion of the growth and development of nerve biological frame dissolves, and a second operation for its removal is not required. As stated by the authors of the research,

“Our experiments have shown truly amazing results. Even when you delete 2/3 of the nerve we were able to restore its functions. We created method will allow you to fully restore feeling and even motor activity of paralyzed people.”
