Rostec has developed the world’s first universal bacteriophage to combat the infection

Around the world are already not the first year is developing the so-called bacteriophages – viruses that can kill bacteria. And recently, scientific-production Association “Microgen”, which is part of state Corporation rostec, created a universal bacteriophage, one capsule which is able to replace a range of traditional drugs. Moreover, the main advantage of medications is that bacteriophages are striking only bacteria without harming the cells of the organism and the microflora.

In addition, the phages do not harm the cells in our body, they also have no side effects, and therefore practically do not suffer from action of drugs such organs as the liver, kidney, fat and small intestine. After the destruction of pathogenic bacteria the medicine is completely excreted from the body in a natural way. As said General Director of NPO “Microgen” Kirill Gaidash,

“Similar developments anywhere in the world – one capsule included antimicrobial complex of bacteriophages for prevention and fight against a number of common bacteria. The drug has already been created and will arrive on the market after passing the necessary research and state registration. Successfully passed preclinical and phase one clinical tests showing its safety.”

The new drug will allow for the prevention and treatment of diseases caused by bacteria of the genus Staphylococcus, Proteus, Klebsiella, Escherichia and Pseudomonas, even with chopsticks. These bacteria provoke the development of a number of diseases from ENT infections like tonsillitis, laryngitis, bronchitis and pneumonia to the abscess, osteomyelitis, cystitis, pyelonephritis, and some generalized septic and purulent-inflammatory diseases. The drug is a capsule for oral use, where a complex of bacteriophages contains in dry form. This dosage form makes it versatile and allows you to eliminate the need to drink a heap of medicines for the treatment and prevention of each disease separately.
