The researchers put the AR-objects zadny plan, hiding them for real

For all its advantages of modern augmented reality technology can put virtual objects in real-life. To make such effects with existing equipment would be problematic, so engineers working in this area, has always faced difficulties in the first place do not allow AR headset comfortable enough for wearing. However, Hong Hua, a Professor at the College of optical Sciences, along with his assistant developed a prototype wearable device that through a system of lenses and mirrors allows to achieve the desired effect.

The developed prototype allows to achieve the illusion in which the virtual object is in the background. The image shows how the virtual kettle stands behind the compressed air tanks. The main difference between the headset Hong Hua, distinguishes it from other similar projects — compactness. Hua reports that the next version of their prototype to be complete wearable sample.

Hong Hua is working on different projects, among which is the long-suffering Magic Leap, in which she is listed as author of at least two developments. Hua said that her own AR-development in any way with Magic Leap is not connected, and continued to speak on his headset. Unfortunately, to make a prototype of a full commercial product requires more time, expertise and money, and none of the three components in the near future, Hua is not expected, therefore, with the release of the headset, just have to wait a bit.
