Pick: Maserati Levante vs. Jaguar F-Pace

Two brands that have recently made their entry made on the crossover market and both are known for their sporty models. Time for a mutually compare.

We look at the sporting traditions of both brands, there are certainly similarities. Well, where you at Jaguar may first think of luxury cars and Maserati earlier with sports cars, Jaguar also fine sports cars, and Maserati stunning cars. Until recently, there was a crossover in the line-up of both brands, but with the Levante and the F-Pace comes to that crossoverloze period to an end.

Let’s start with the exterior. The F-Pace looks a little more compact and that is: 473,1 inches versus exactly 5 meters in front of the Levante. The differences in width are minimal, the F-Pace is 217,5 inches even two inches wider than the Levante. It is notable that the larger Levante in similar version about 50 to 100 pounds lighter than the Jag.

Also in terms of engines, there is a considerable overlap, but there are again important differences. Maserati is currently building three versions of the Levante, the ordinary with the 3.0 V6 with 350 hp (not yet available in the Netherlands), the Levante with the same block but with 430 horsepower and a six-cylinder zelfontbrander with 275 hp. The F-Pace put a pair of 3.0 V6 petrol engines, with respectively 340 and 380 hp, while the six burner diesel with 300 hp is still a bit stronger than that of his Italian rival. In addition, Jaguar also a four-cylinder diesel with 180 hp, however, considerably less potent.

Big price differences

That pays, however, to return to a much lower entry price. The goekoopste F-Pace will cost 52.850 euro, while for Levante at least 102.529 euros changed hands. Then we compare, however, apples with pears, so we need something more than a ton-dollar Levante Diesel compared to the F-Pace 30d AWD. This is from 76.150 euro, while the thick-clothed First Edition for 98.850 euro in the price lists.

We look at the petrol variants, the differences are even greater. The ordinary Levante in the Netherlands is not yet available, so we should with the 140.371 euro-dollar Levante S with 420 hp. So many power supplies Jaguar is not in the F-Pace, so we come out on the F-Pace S AWD (380 hp), which from 106.350 euro goes home. The First Edition is for 115.550 euros in the price list. Both the Ferrari taken in hand block from the Levante as the V6 that Jaguar next to the F-Pace is also in the F-Type delivers, are known for their fine soundtrack. The 0-100 sprint is settled in favor of the Maserati, 5.2 seconds vs. 5.5 seconds in the thickest Jag.

Choose but

A completely fair one-on-one comparison is there not to make, but both SUV’s differences, nor is night and day from each other. Certainly not, because it is not inconceivable that Jaguar also with an even faster F-Pace R might come. That is, for now, however, science fiction and so should be selected out of what now to buy. Do you go for Italian flair or British class?
