After a Le Mans-luwe period of six years, think of Jos Verstappen, father of one of the best F1 drivers from the Netherlands, to a return to racing. Inset: the 24 Hours of Le Mans!

Nico Hülkenbergs success in the 24 Hours of Le Mans seems to radiate more (ex-)F1 drivers. On the persco prior to the GP of Austria alluded both Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel as Daniel Ricciardo to an eventual participation in the long afstandsrace. Today Jos Verstappen (43) a bomblet dropping by to Autoport to also announce that he envisages a return on the international circuits. Jos says a plan to work to later this season in to steps in a European championship. Jos:

“I still can. I just need a bit of practice and some pounds.”

Former Le Mans winner Jan Lammers (59) affirms against Racing that he, together with JUMBO-owner, Frits van Eerd (also sponsor of Max), have a look whether they have a Dutch racetrio can form with Jos for the LMP2 class. However, he says that there are currently multiple riders on home soil in the race for the third seat.

On the question of whether Jos with Max participation for eyes says Verstappen:

“No, Max must (eventually) LMP1 to do, I would be in the LMP2 must come true.”

Jos says that the time he spent on the F1 career of Max should not suffer under his Le Mans aspirations.

“A couple of races and then Le Mans would be ok again”

Verstappen raced in 2008 and 2009 for the last time in Le Mans. In that first year he won also the LMP2 class, so here we do expect a lot of.
