Issues

  • The 1.4 in the case of various petrol types without turbo and the 1.9 SDI (without turbo!) are ondergemotoriseerd.
  • 1.9 TDI is as reliable book than the 2.0 TDI.
  • FSI engines (1.6 and 2.0), would rather have gas with an octane of 98.
  • DSG: check for correct and smooth shifting.
  • At GTI’s: a benzinelucht may indicate leaking fuel lines.
  • A humming sound that is louder at speed usually indicates broken wheel bearings.
  • TFSI chain tensioners: The timing chain can stretch, causing all kinds of problems can arise. Costly problems such as damaged valves, pistons or the complete of the soup running of the engine.
